Before becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Janet Pulvermacher worked in the health and fitness industry as a personal trainer and coach. She holds certifications from National Academy of Sports Medicine including Corrective Exercise and Performance Enhancement along with USA-Weightlifting. This passion for helping people achieve their strength and fitness goals transpired by delving deeper into what happens within the body when her clients came to her with pain.
Dr. Janet graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with clinical excellence. During her time in school she studied Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy/McKenzie Method (MDT), Motion Specific Technique and soft tissue techniques. She is also a certified provider of Active Release Techniques (ART).
As an undergraduate student at Columbia College Chicago, Dr. Janet enjoyed competing in bodybuilding in the figure division. Throughout her training career she moved to competing in various strength sports including United States Strongman and local Crossfit competitions.
When not in the office, she enjoys strength training, taking motorcycle trips with her husband and snowboarding in the winter. They live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with their daughter and three dogs.
